About Project
Web-resource was created within the project "Equal opportunities for fair elections", implemented by Public Movement "Multinational Georgia" with the joint financial support from the European Commission Delegation to Georgia, CORDAID, Eurasia Partnership Foundation and International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) during the Extraordinary Presidential Elections and Parliamentary elections in year 2008. Information resource performs two main functions:

Make information on elections and the electoral process accessible to ethnic minorities

Ensure the rapid exchange of information and responding to violations during the elections in the regions with compact settlements of ethnic minorities
One of the priorities of PMMG is promoting of civic participation of minorities in particular ensuring conditions for informed and qualitative participation in elections at all levels and civil monitoring of the electoral process. PMMG promotes formation of the citizens of Georgia as the most important actors of the political process.
Work is conducted in the following areas:

Improving level of legal and political literacy of ethnic minorities - provide accessible information about the electoral process, possible violations and how to counteract violations in user-friendly format

Training of members of ethnic minorities to participate in programs of civil monitoring of the electoral process

Developing a culture of informed voting, i.e. voting for the program, rather than the individual, and organization of constructive dialogue between ethnic groups and representatives of political forces

Promoting development of approaches to problems relevant to ethnic minorities and regions of their compact residence in the programs of different political parties and actors at the local and central levels |
